The Spokesperson’s Unit is responsible for building and shaping the city’s public relations strategy across all relevant contemporary public relations channels for the 21st century. The public relations strategy reflects the policy of the Mayor and the City Council and is overseen by annually approved work plans.
The world of communication is fascinating and constantly reinventing itself. Therefore, the Municipality has a wide range of digital media at its disposal and also advertises through additional channels such as: posters, flyers, brochures and newsletters, publications in the local and national press.
The department interfaces directly with all municipal departments and divisions, with the goal of informing the public about issues promoted by the city that warrant front-page coverage in city updates, and more. As part of this, the department head is responsible for media relations on behalf of all municipal spokespersons.
